Penalty for an infringement?

Still a bit OTT, but maybe it’s the only way Greece can actually get drivers to take notice. We could do with a bit of that here too! Quite a few vehicles running around these parts without plates on. I can't remember the last time I saw a traffic cop that wasn't on a major road (A1, A19, A66, A69,...

Continuing the gloss black theme

Assuming the replacement has the same lens therefore looks the same i wouldn't have covered them myself. The replacement doesn't look the same. :( If it did, I might have thought twice about wrapping. In the fullness of time I may well throw caution to the wind and shell-out for a matching pair of ...

Continuing the gloss black theme

Something I've been meaning to do for a while........ IMG_0001.JPG Last week, one of the foglights got attacked by a low-flying stone. Now, factory-fit front fogs aren't fit for purpose, IMHO. My car has adaptive xenons which are teamed with specific fog/cornering lights which are over three-times t...

New car

Personally, I wouldn't be spending that sort of money on a car. I would rather keep my liquid assets intact so they will, hopefully, last for most of my retirement.

You asked, I answered.

Count down for service seems stuck!

StuBeeDoo wrote: Sat Apr 29, 2023 3:56 pmThe current 3300 miles and counting-down is until front brake replacement in November this year.
As of today, the counter is down to 1900 miles. Since that ^^^ post, the car has done 4200 miles. :-?

Mashed gearboxes because of tyres is not an issue, afaik with Land Rover. They however have plenty of other things to deal with. IMHO, the difference is that Land Rover products (well, at least the ones with the engine and transmission the right way round.......) have a centre diff rather than a tr...

Shame they don't do them in my size.
Having said that, I've done probably 40k miles on non-approved tyres with no issues - yet.

Boot release

I've never had any problem with mine - yet - but I would venture to suggest your problem is with, or associated with, the rubber button. I would be very surprised if it's something that can be resolved by coding.

Police vehicle engine failures - N57 series

At my last place of work, one of the (few) perks was that we were allowed, in our own time, to use the vehicle washing facilities. One of the lads habitually drove the 50mtrs from the car park to the wash and left his car idling the entire time he washed, dried, and detailed it. Then he drove the 50...

Police vehicle engine failures - N57 series

Interesting(?) reading. However - at the risk of sounding smug - I have never let any vehicle I've been driving idle any more than absolutely necessary.* Before anyone had ever heard of Auto Stop Start, I was in the habit of switching-off at any traffic lights I knew to be "long-winded". ....

Ooops, my mistake. Was half asleep - eyes mustn't have been working properly. I was convinced the post was 5 years old.

Sports Seats - uncomfortable

I haven't had any experience of the F15. But I can say that swapping the comfort seats in my E30 for sport seats was a mistake - I ended-up putting Recaros in that one. 8) I preferred sport seats in the E46, though. Can't remember if I tried an F25 with comfort seats, but the sport seats in mine are...

Vehicle Tracking Systems & 3G

Thanks for the heads-up. Don't tell anyone, but none of our cars have trackers.
I'm not aware that I have any devices on older than 4G, but if any suddenly stop working, I'll deal with it when it happens.
