Non OE drl's

They'd look rather good on the facelifted model, underneath the foglight trim

Those do look nice. I wonder how they'd look on the front of a pre facelift car? And how to integrate them into the loom ???

Bugger!
I've become increasingly frustrated at the yellowish tones the general lighting offers outside of the xenons. Having replaced all of the front lighting on my 2005 Touareg with Philips Ultinon LEDs, that car looks fresher, almost younger than the X6 :?

Curious if anyone has fitted any aftermarket LED drl's to an E71 or E70? I'm thinking the slim rectangular type, probably fitted in/on the foglight panel. I'd be open to other possibilities though.

Wiring may need professional help, given the complexity involved?

An addendum on the damaged interior trim So yesterday was finally the day for replacement of the damaged trim from the airbag recall. In fairness, Arden BMW never argued or disputed my claim. Its probably cost them a few bob too. It's also taken an age to happen as the centre console trim was a spec...

Airbags while you waited? Perhaps the fitters are more adept at it now. My E71 was an overhight guest of the dealership.

All valid points in the contributions here. Something else i reminded myself of, having moved home countless times over the years, i always located the local car accessory shop. These have all gone now and we've ended up with Halfrauds. My nearest employs some totally inept staff, one who looks like...

Maybe BMW, and others, have built in so many features now, there's little or nothing to upgrade or modify?

Us oldies are seemingly going the way of the dinosaur. In the words of private Fraser 'we're all doomed'.

Its probably not coincidence that restrictive practice from BMW (and others) means the average owner is almost a robot and just a driver/owner now. Driverless cars when they eventually arrive mainstream, will doubless be the real end of home tinkering. The car will take itself to a workshop for main...

I still look-in every morning but not tinkering that much any more just the odd oil/filter sort of thing. I did the 9" touch screen job but only as mine came with a win ce copy of the original and it was playing up. Yes the screen would drive you mad with dust and finger marks lol. Well that m...

Surely there are still some tinkerers, petrol heads or hobbyist DIYs out there? Even the one post help me contributors are missing. Not sure if i posted this previously, without leaving this page, but the interior is now pristine again with some nice new console trim. Its made me think again about t...
