Re: Cost for replacing rear air springs
How long do these airbags last ?? mine do not need replacing,my E53 X5 is on a 56 plate,so do they have a long life or do they need replacing at specific time durations say like every 5 years or so.Or is it a case of how long is a piece of string ?? Not had any problems with mine thus far,but just w...

Re: Replacing the battery
Sorry if this seems like a stupid question but why has a X5 got to be coded ??? i have had to re-code a radio in a car when the battery is changed and reset the clock, but is it due to the X5 having so many computer related equipment ?? Gut feeling tells me its something along these lines.

Re: Tinting windows
Must admit i had thought about tinting my windows on my X5 a few weeks back, till the wife said i would look like a 'drug dealer' ) so that shelved that idea. But they can look very smart if done properly.

Re: Starts only when I release the accelerator
Only had my E53 3d for about 6 weeks and must admit i have never had the need to put my foot on the throttle,it starts 1st time on the turn of the key, before lashing out any money on taking it too a garage try starting it a few days from cold without any use of the throttle. At least that way you can...
Re: Tyres
Sorry to divers a little off topic but it is related to tyres,on my 56 X5 they came with the 20'' wheels especially the very large 325 rear tyres which are massive, but as the X5 is permanent 4 wheel drive do all the tyres have too be of the same brand and exact same type of tyre model if that makes...

@JF1980,many thanks for your recommendation on video cameras, will take a good look at gettiing some,i like your idea of a NAS setup,i have a new HP that i have never used still sitting in its box, that could well be used solely for the cctv setup.
Once again many thanks for your suggestion/s

Re: Tyre pressure monitor
I had the same red tyre pressure light thingy come on in the 1st week that i bought the X5,so dropped the speed down till i got to the nearest garage, and low and behold the tyre pressure on one of the rear tyres was infact down by a massive margin.Of course blew it up and then hoped it was just noth...

They look brilliant as if they had been made to fit the seats, another big bonus is they are also charcoal filled especially great if you had a 'curry' the night before ) )

Re: 6HP box misbehaving!
Sorry to hear that you are still having major problems with the gearbox, must admit as 'grumpywurzel' has mentioned that is alot of money and basically still no further forwards that when initially started having the problems. The bottom line is that you have spent £4000 thus far and basically as it ...

Re: Possible turbo issue? Engine much louder under acceleration & less go at speed
A total long shot for sure, but could movement in i assume the bearing/s be like that as the turbo can get upto some tremendous temperatures so possible the play could be taken up when hot,of course could be a problem. When i was looking at a Shogun before i bought my X5 it had just had a brand new t...

Re: Vibration at speed
I dont own your specific X5 model, but did the E70's have prop shaft failure,of course your may not be one of them that had this issue, but just a slim chance that a prop shaft is failing ??
I of course could me miles out and probably am
