Re: Possible turbo issue? Engine much louder under acceleration & less go at speed
It isn't mentioned in most vehicle handbooks.  It has always been kinder to let a turbo cool for a few moments after a motorway type run.  The rpm will die away almost instantly but what you need to do is allow it to cool so oil in the centre bearing does not 'cook'.  Swi...

Re: Possible turbo issue? Engine much louder under acceleration & less go at speed

Re: Door locks sometimes randomly lock and unlock while driving !!

Just a quick update, checked the centre consol switch and sprayed it with some electrical contact cleaner and its not done it since,so looks like that was probably the culprit,of course time will tell but this has only been the only small glitch that i have found.

Re: Is anyone concerned about going deisel ?

When i bought my X5 about a month ago,i looked at the wider picture and what i wanted the car for and would it do the job that i wanted it for and all the boxes got ticked,so i went for the diesel option and must admit i have never regretted it thus far. I dont do high mileages anyway so the long te...
[emoji106] did you consider the petrol before getting the diesel?
Never gave it a thought really,i had a Isuzu Trooper 4 pot diesel for 17 years, then a V6 petrol Vitara so had both over the years,i always thought diesel would never be as smooth as a petrol engine,...

Re: Hi all
Thanks for the feedback guys. I am near Hitchin in Letchworth  :) So what we are saying is I need to save a few more pennies and get to the £5k mark. I am guessing I would then be looking at the facelift 3.0d with the higher bhp for that price and not the 4.8petrol [/quote...

Re: Hi all
So, the things have changed and my second car is looking like I'm going to have to go for early model X5. Looking into it I should be looking for a 2004 onwards 1st gen model. As it will be a second runaround and won't be used a lot, I take it the better option would be a ...
