Re: Short Front Number Plate?

If your original plates are black on the reverse side, screw the original plate on back to front and then stick your short plate on to it. Worth a try as it won't cost nowt 🤔

Re: All Glow plugs showing faulty in INPA

I would change the battery first if the 4x4 light only comes on when low voltage, or charging.
If it was a SAS fault it would come on no matter what charge was on in the battery.

Re: Water leaking in rear fuse panel area

The rear lights seal is a weak point on the E70 in early models, they upgraded the seals after a while, possibly worth looking at
And welcome to the forum :D

Re: Headlights strobing..

My angel eye / halo/ front marker lights used to strobe on startup, this is normal with aftermarket LED  ( white ) front markers.
The bulb. Heck voltage is enough to light up the LED, but not the OEM halogen bulbs
Is it the front marker \ halo lights you mean or the dipped beam?
Do you lose the mpg / timer / time reset with these units?
Having read your post earlier on in the thread it looks like your car was non factory nav and someone has fitted an aftermarket Chinese headunit in yours and put the original MID unit in the glovebox to r...

Cartronics repair them and Baris can upgrade them too, also repairs the Amps, maybe worth a call. You may be able to send it to them for Testing / Repair. See their Website A decent double din  headunit would be my choice,( not a Chinese one. ) Kenwood or Alpine ,  the MK4 BMW unit is prehistoric no...

Re: Wrapping interior trim
Just thought I'd mention that myself and a mate have started to wrap the interior trim on the X5. The standard trim was silver and it had lots of scratches and marks.  I decided on a nice grey carbon wrap. We have managed to do the front door trim without removing door pane...

Re: What's your money on?

If you have removed swirl flaps then you know how to remove the intake manifold , your halfway there. Once that's removed the glowplugs are accessible, loads and loads of penatrati ng fluid, then some more over a couple of hours, a 6 mm deep socket on a stubby racket, so you can feel of its going to...

Re: What's your money on?

Probably glow plugs / glowplug controller, I changed both whilst in there as the inlet manifold has to come off, not a job for the faint hearted, and spray the glowplugs with penetrating fluid several times owner a couple of hours, using a full tin of WD40 or similar, as of you break a glowplug off ...
