Re: ISTA D screen resolution issues
Sorry just managed to fix it. The laptop scale and layout settings were at 125%.....changed to 100% and it is fine. I am not used to this windows 10 nonsense.

ISTA D screen resolution issues
I have installed ista diagnostic software on a laptop but I am having trouble using it due to screen resolution issues. Basically, when the programme opens it is not in full screen. Online, people as suggesting double clicking the grey header to put it into full screen mode. The problem is I cannot ...

Re: Reliability of the N57 3.0 Diesels compared to the M57.
I have both, an e53 30d and an e70 40d. Both have over 200,000 miles clocked. The N57 seems a lot more refined than the M57 and obviously a lot more powerful. I have not had any issues with the timing chain, which is at the rear of the engine, however have read of others who have online. I travelled...

Re: E70 40d rear level sensor
Just to close the thread as I have now resolved the issue. It transpires that the level sensor was not at fault, it was a broken wire in the loom leading to the plug at the sensor. It was not at all obvious and only clearly seen when the tape was peeled back. Just in case anyone else suffers similar...

Re: Suspension issues
I am unsure of what model or year your car is but I had issues with the rear suspension, mine is an e70 40d. It was scanning a fault with the near side rear sensor and sometimes the nsr airbag would empty completely. The dash warning was also showing for inactive suspension. I replaced the sensor tw...

Re: E70 rear suspension sensor
I just changed mine and it is still showing fault.....the joys of used parts. I have it in front of me now and I just took off the single nut holding the bracket as it was easier. That will leave the 10mm nut/or is it 8mm on the arm.

Re: Glow plug controller x5 40d
Thanks for that Alan.
I dont actually have any fault codes registering for the relay or the plugs but the car is difficult to start from cold and it has six new injectors and high and low pressure fuel pumps so running out of ideas.

Glow plug controller x5 40d
I am looking at replacing the glow plugs and controller in my 40d and see someone selling Beru controller with six Bosch plugs. When looking on real oem it says Beru and Bosch not to be fitted together.
Anyone done this or knowledge as to compatibility as Bosch dont seem to do a controller?

Re: E70 40d rear level sensor
Its a Sept 2010 LCI. I did see that but it states headlight level sensor rather than ride height for suspension. Does this sensor do both?

E70 40d rear level sensor
I recently replaced the two rear suspension airbags as they were leaking slowly overnight. Initially all was well for two days until when driving I noticed the ride very bumpy. The ns rear bag was empty and not filling. I ran Carly diagnostic which highlighted a fault with the ns rear level sensor. ...
