2010 E70 X5 3.0d - Tyre Pressure Loss
Turns out my run flats didn't have a slow puncture, the wheel had a crack in it caused potentially by a pot hole.
What is peoples experience with this?
Can anyone suggest more robust rims as I'm doing a lot of motorway miles..

Re: 2010 E70 X5 3.0d - Misfuel Protection Plate
Although it was dark and I was half asleep, I can confirm I had a black diesel pump in my hand.
Good challenge though!

Re: 2010 E70 X5 3.0d - Judder / Rumble on Motorway
Thanks for all your help, all faults were reset before the long mileage first trip, via INPA. The driver seat heater wont turn on so that clears that one, still would like to fix it though, I like a warm bum! Glow plugs I will look at sometime soon, yes I've known small diameter plugs tend to shear ...

Re: 2010 E70 X5 3.0d - Judder / Rumble on Motorway
I was on the motorway a couple of times last week and the fault came up again? Switching off the ignition cleared it. So it looks like changing the transfer case oil and checking the transfer gears did not resolve the 4X4 warning light problem. Where do I go next? :headbang: PXL_2020121...

Re: 2010 E70 X5 3.0d - Misfuel Protection Plate
It was a nozzle problem, never been to that filling station before and it was early in morning and dark so couldn't see what was going on.
After work went to another filling station and it opened with no problems.
Bit of an early morning shock when half asleep!
Thanks all!

2010 E70 X5 3.0d - Misfuel Protection Plate
Went to refill my car this morning and the diesel fuel nozzle would not go into the filler cap. Upon further examination I found a metal plate to be blocking the nozzle opening. I've later found out this is the mis-fuelling protection. Can anyone instruct me how to open this cap? I need to fill my c...

Re: 2010 E70 X5 3.0d - Judder / Rumble on Motorway
Well having spoken to a reputable tyre dealer today and hearing the tales of woe with X5's and various intermediate grade tyres I went for the BMW approved Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport Run flats all round. My bank balance took its greatest ever tyre cost hit, but immediately the rumble / judder at s...

Re: 2010 E70 X5 3.0d - Judder / Rumble on Motorway
Thanks for your advice! I think you may be right about the tyres had a look last night, the tyres are bigger on back 315/35/R20 & 275/40/R20 on front.. The rear tyres don't look good! Going to get them changed today and also get a check done to ensure the wheels are not deformed on all 4. I did ...

2010 E70 X5 3.0d - Judder / Rumble on Motorway
Hi Recently got this motor and also recently drove it on the motorway, from about 55+ mph the car starts to rumble / judder. Today a fault came up which resets when the ignition is turned off. The 4X4 light comes on in the centre of the dash, and a stability error is shown on the i-drive display. An...
