Re: New E83 3.0Si Owner
I have only just seen your last post as have been offline, busy at work & got home late. I am typing this on my mobile phone but have had a brief look at your site. You own and have had some interesting metal pass through your ownership. E83 1st impressions are intesting. I have driven a couple...

Re: X5 e53 aftermarket head unit
I prefer thes stock look.....so much so I wouldn't reject a car with aftermarket unless priced to allow for OEM retro fit.
Not saying contact do it but maybe keep the original kit in a box if all working ok.

Re: Driver's heated seat fault?
Try swapping suspected dodgy sensors with decent one and walk testing. Hopefully you will be able to ascertain if issue is individual sensor(s) , loom (unlikely) or PDC control unit. Also maybe check/clean connections first &/or use alcohol wipe to clean each sensor before shelling out on new p...

Re: New E83 3.0Si Owner
By all means contact me if you want to swap the Alpina Roadster S (wonderful cars) for my 2003 V70 ;) ..... I can even throw in £500 and a red reflective safety triangle to sweeten the deal :) In all seriousness though.....How are you finding the E83 3.0si to drive as an all rounder ? I accept ...

Re: Driver's heated seat fault?
If it was bought from a trader then ask them to sort it and any other issues....unless they notified you of issues prior to agreeing to buy with same present

Re: About to purchase X3 3.0i. Question for you!
Assuming it's an M54 231hp 3.0i.....Mayo is normal on filler cap in a car that has been parked up or left stood.

Re: 4.6is
Agree 4.6is can also be affected. Guides are not a job I would tackle. I personally would want it done by someone who had prior done same on another M62 lump. That means £1.5k When guides went on my 2002 4.4i I had to factor in the cost of the guides being changed plus the fact it soon needed tyres...

Re: New E53 owner
Looks like you have inherited a few issues as part of the purchase. It may be prudent to go right through the car and do some totting up maths before you start spending on individual issues. Great if you sort everything but do consider cost of sourcing car plus cost to fix up against likely value us...

Re: Opinions..
Ironically I just called up to enquire re a RRS 4.2SC.....possibly sub conciously motivated by this thread Car had been advertised by private seller for 5 weeks on ebay & more recently AT....Private seller was a mature enthusiast, had replaced lots of suspension parts and basically sorted all is...

Re: Opinions..
I confess to having a soft spot for RRS 4.2SC. I have researched these a fair bit. The fuel consumption on these is pretty poor....official is circa 17mpg with folk reporting 22 on motorway runs. Single figure mpg and low teens often muted. Consumption & maintenance costs are probably just on th...

Done......Newbie chat welcome here.
Maybe consider a new thread in the X2 F39 board to discuss the car or anything relating to it.
Welcome btw

Re: Buying an X5
If not read already, my E53 ramblings can be found on this board as a sticky thread. Re auto boxes........ Recon or refurb could be a full strip down, a comprehensive rebuild, or a box that has had far less work Replacement could mean a brand new box or the swapping out for a recon or refurbished ...
