Well, after an almost intolerable wait, including DVLA plate transfer, I finally picked my X5 up tonight. Only done 16 miles on the way back from the garage so I'll have a proper play tomorrow.

One thing I noticed on the M1 coming home was that there was much more road noise than I remember from the test drive, although I was being gentle and in the inside lane. Maybe it'll sound better when I get the glaze of the tyres.

Hi,

Placed an order last week on Tuesday. Build date is supposed to be w/c 8th Sept, then I'm told 6 weeks from then for delivery. So I'm expecting my car in the 3rd week of Oct. We shall see I guess...

Before placing my order I did hear that standard delivery was looking like Jan/Feb 2015 now; however, the key is to shop around as there are several BMW dealers who have unallocated slots available. That's what happened to me, the slot I took was one of the dealers 3 slots for Sept. They said it was a slot they were planning on using for their own dealer demonstrator but allocated it to me as I was ready to buy then and there.

Good luck with your own purchase sir...

That's a quick turnaround,well done !

I'm going to stick with my current dealer,

I've had a few false starts trying find one that gives a decent level of customer service,

They were very reasonable on a few issues with my E70 so i think it will be to my benefit in the long run to stay put,

Looking forward to Friday though  :)

Got the spec worked out so fingers crossed.
