This is what I bought... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171020962122? ... 1439.l2649

I had nightmares of something spilling in the boot and draining through onto my third row of seats and being a pig to clean.

It fits perfectly and is good quality. As you'd expect from a genuine part.

Holy thread resurrection batman...

But - has anyone bought a boot liner recently (for 5 seater)?  There are so many on ebay it's impossible to know which are any good.  Or just go for the genuine item - at £66???

I had one in my e61, really good to have, as above the lip is good for added protection against splillage

i thought of one for my e70, but as a 7 seater would be a pain to have a solid piece and then having to use the 3rd row on ad hoc basis when out and about

instead i head a cheap throw/ blanket down. Okay it won't contain the splillage, but at least help soak it up and not go everywhere

It is from Custom Covers

I'm currently having a custom dog cage made too that will be 3/4 of the boot space

I had a VW Passat Estate previously and retained the VW bootliner when I sold it. It fits the X5 perfectly turned round 90 degrees and folds easily when the back two seats go up. It is made of a soft foam (polystyrene?) but is flexible so it will fold, they arrive rolled up anyway when you buy them.

BullyB.
Is it easy to get access to the underboot area, with the protector in place, as this is where the detatchable tow bar bits are stored, and im forever in and out of there for the tow ball bits...
Im in the market for a good boot area protector, but it has to be "user friendly"...

You have to pull it off the tailgate flap and then it will lift up easy enough. It is secured around the boot with Velcro, you just need to stick it back down after.
I'm really happy with it.
It even has Velcro strips so you can fold the seats flat without removing.
