Re: LED rear lights for 4.8is
Lots out there and issues with all of them. They need a resistor...
Google came up with these.
But we have a few threads on here too - Link 1 & Link 2

I have been looking at getting a set of these LED's :

Maintains the standard look of the rear lights (with a longer reversing lens) so doesn't look too aftermarket.

I bought off this seller to overcome a problem with a reverse camera / numberplate light that I bought, it came with an LED which my Canbus flagged as a blown bulb, fitted one of these, sorted

Re: LED rear lights for 4.8is
Cheers guys... That sounds like a plan.
Ro - ill probably go with your suggestion as it does look like stock item albeit ffwd-ed couple years to present times .
If only bm had thought of replicating e39 concept of rear light on e53's...

Re: LED rear lights for 4.8is
hi guys,
I spoke to Nathan from Autoenhance and he advised that LED's would flicker ever so slightly in normal light on mode and should work fine when brakes are pressed... any hints on how to resolve this (heard some rumours about the resistors that fix this issue)?

Capacitor inline will sort it. That's what I did with mine.

Re: LED rear lights for 4.8is
Guess one on each side?
Re: LED rear lights for 4.8is
You have to match the original resistance of the bulb / bulbs. For example if the original rear lamp uses two 5 w bulbs for the side lights on that side, you would need a load resister of 10 w. This is to fool the bulb check on the canbus system that there are 2 x 5w bulbs on that line. Same for the indicator , match the bulb resistance, same for the brake light .
Alternatively the bulb check can be un ticked in the menus in Scanner 1.4.0 this may work, has anyone tried this with LED rear lights?

Re: LED rear lights for 4.8is
Cool... I think indicator is a std bulb so that would be fine. Could anyone share the diagram or post a pic Where to splice the wire/s and how to connect the resistor?
Once again much appreciated for all your feedback guys...
