Hi All,
Got a problem with my X5 and a little stumped as to what is causing the problem.
Basically yesterday, i replaced the NS outer CV boot as it had split.
Since replacing i'm getting a shudder/vibration from what feels the NS side of the car, mainly apparent when pulling away/accelerating or slowing to a stop.
I've double checked everyhting that i removed and all seems to be seated correctly???
Only thing i have noticed is when jacked up and wheel off, when spinning the disc it sounds like a clicking sound.
Before disturbing the front NS prior to replacing the CV boot i had no vibration/shudder or noises.
I'm a bit stumped at what it could be, driveshaft, cv joint???
Vehicle is a 2005 facelift X5 3.0 sport with 64k on it.
Any thoughts or similiar issues before experienced before.
Thanks for any assistance.

Shudder / Vibration Front Axle
Re: Shudder / Vibration Front Axle
I get a funny rattle which sounds like it comes from the front drivers side wheel - this has been happening for the past few years ever since I had the CV boot replaced. It comes and goes, when I do get it, it tends to rattle most when turning left. I figure some grit got in when the boot was split and has damaged the joint so have been thinking of replacing the axles/joints in one go as from what I have read it's easier to do that then tring to fit a boot.
Did you get to the bottom of what was causing your issue?
