Post by Smeeagain » Wed Jan 07, 2015 4:09 pm

ok this is anew on one me and not seen anyone reporting similar as far as I can recall.

When I turn the steering wheel I get a  squeaking sound. Really irritating. Worse when turning the vehicle to the left than the right. Sound like something is rubbing. Any ideas what could be causing this and what to lubricate ?

I've tried adjusting steering wheel position which improves it slightly but it not the wheel position that I want

because it was knackered or does it make the noise because it needs lubricated (if it can be)?

it wasn't knocking or anything, just kinda squeak or rubbing like noise when i turned the wheel,i cut a small hole in the rubber boot that covers the ball joint and put some engine oil in it,result no noise so changed the whole arm.

Mine does the same very faintly,  turn on the wireless and you can't hear it , think it's probably the contacts between the steering wheel and the column.

.......and wait 10 minutes for the valves to warm up.  That's why cars didn't have heater, the wireless did it all.

Ah, the days of 'The Light Programme'......... :P
