WELCOME!

That's the most recent (latest) E53 I have seen - on an 07.  It must be one of the last off the line in Spartanburg as E70 production started in Sep 2006, so I guess there was parallel production for a period prior to cut-over.

Plus, less than 50k.  Nice.

Enjoy.

thanks buddy, loving every minute. Be intrigued to know when the last rolled off the line before they exclusively sold the new model.

It might have been part of BMW UK stock released as part of the end of life production cycle.  There should be a 'build plate' under the bonnet.  You can also use the last 7 characters of the VIN to find the actual build date on any of the various VIN decoders on line.

Yes I already checked those, claimed jan 07 as build date with it being registered March 07

Welcome :)

I have never heard of a 2007 build E53.

This link tends to indicate none were physically made in 2007.

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showth ... p?t=166898

....though I cannot confirm the specifics mentioned in the link.

I am most intrigued.

Does the Last 8 of VIN return a 1/07 build on realoem.com ?

Specifically & only re the 2009 model sighted it may have been registered late for some reason. I do not know the cut off date for the security edition facelift E53 (4.4i) but the E70 security edition 1st rolled out in 2008. Afaik all security edition cars where V8 models (4.4i 320hp I think).

September 22nd 2006 appears on various other sites.  Well worth investigating what you actually have, though it is the registration date that generates the plate.  It could have been something that once it arrived here was found to be damaged and was put through repairs at the VPC at Thorne.  That would have delayed its release into the sales channel, and might have even generated a new 'build' date - damaged/replaced bodyshell for example?

The VPC can completely rebuild a car to 'as new' spec should one get damaged during shipping as an example.
