Post by jap scrap » Sun Jun 19, 2011 1:05 pm

Its a question that comes up a lot so i said i would put this up.

BMW X5 Engine Oil Service reset

Turn the ignition to "0"
Press and hold odometer button and turn the ignition to "1".
Hold odometer button pressed for approximately 5 seconds until the display shows: "Inspektion Re /
Release and press odometer button again until Reset flashes
Release and press odometer button shortly.
Release and press odometer button again.
The next oil service interval will be shown and will disappear.
Oil service lamp is now reset

Note: To abort the procedure at any time: turn the ignition to "0".

Thanks for posting this. Just reset the service lights on mine after doing an oil service. Slightly different, mine said RESET SIA: then some numbers but I managed it in the end.

You can use may scanner if your not far from me, mine has the oil service warning up as well, I want the book stamping though, so was going to get a garage to change the oil and filter and stamp the book. May reset the light myself first with the scanner to test it out first.
