Hi everyone
Another new member here lol, dont have an E53 yet but am on the lookout, have a couple of possibilities i am looking in to.
My current vehicle is an 2003 e46 325 sport coupe but have always loved the E53 and now i have 2 grandkids and a third on the way, i am in the market to buy one as a 2 door just isnt practical for me lol
Have been browsing the forum for a couple of days now and must admit everyone seems really friendly and helpful so look forward to using the boards more often, but be warned, im not very technical lol
sorry about the sig size, if a mod could resize it, that would be much apprieciated please

Hi and welcome to the forum
Good luck with the search for a car, take your time as a good one is great, but a bad one is expensive to fix.
As Sanj says there is a good buyers guide to help, check all the electrics Windows heater folding mirrors and later gearboxes 6 speed auto seem bette, but good history helps, pan roofs can cause probs and check for leaks rear carpet foot wells, there is probably more as others will mention. That. I have forgotten
This is plus the usual car checks. Some prefer a diesel, others like me who used it for a weekend car went the petrol route but they drive well for a big car.
