Hi Colin

It sounded like a good idea and that should help get you out and about this week.

Less load on the alternator, so less drag on the engine?

Hi Colin

No it may not be in your head as X5Sport says less drag on the engine and the electrics are probably getting a better signal, so changes on the gearbox could be smoother as battery up to full capacity once more.

You'll also find it just starts with more urgency than before I know when I replace my old one it need the steering wheel rotating to reset the angle sensor and from that day it was never a problem to start, so a worthwhile investment in my book.

Colin

I finally managed to get away on holiday today and took the X5 with us.

It ran without effort and for my petrol E70 returned 24.3 mpg, which was surprisingly better than the previous 4.4 e53 I had.

The only thing I would say is the runflats seem harder than the older bridgestones which were non runflats on the E 53 and a bit noisy on some concrete surfaces, but no worse than the 22"s I had on the E53.

Hi

Yes we had similar weather here about 30-31 and so hot we were sweating indoors before departing on drive to holiday destination.

In the car it was a pleasant 18 degrees with air on on  :)) and then we we got here at 3:30pm it was still 28 so didn't do much apart from unload car and have a cuppa.

After that we went to the local shop for the papers and in the evening we went for a meal at the local pub hostelry and back to our accommodation and as still hot indoors I went outside and cleaned off the bugs from the front of the car as it looked a bit messy. :)

I think today it's go for a quick swim although cloudy and then in to local town this afternoon to see a World War two torpedo boat and other navy boats at the harbour.

Hi Colin sorry to hear that, hope it's not too much of a shock on Monday.

We are still on holiday and the in-laws cam up yesterday to join us for a couple of days, which is good fun, being in the pool, going for walks, and playing the amusements.

Today has been a leisurely start, with me going for an early swim and then breakfast after and the rest of the family went for breafast first then a quick swim. Now we are in town getting something to eat and going from a walk in the sunshine which always makes you feel good.

I think after the walk it will be have a snooze on the beech or some of the benches. After which we are going to see some classic cars a bit later which is different.

What car have you got the Mrs? An X1 ?
