Tyres.??

Post by Nine468 » Fri Jul 29, 2016 12:40 pm

Ok so its time for a new set of tyres for my X5.
Ive removed the RFT,s last time and have been running the Toyo t1 sports NON RFT,s for the last 2 years. Theyve been ok, but just wondered what the general consensus is to what the masses use.
I see the Michelin Latitude sp3,s get a decent review, but they are some £250 per set dearer than the Toyos, are they really that good.??

Hi I know Bmw recommend certain tyre which are star rated and on the newer cars because of having run flats the cars have no spare.

I know with my 135i it was supposed to have runflats as had a stiffer side wall and helped with handling. But on my old e53 I ran 20" bridgestones Nd there were okay and then yokohamas on 22" which were ok

On my e70 it has the Bridgestone runflats, which aren't bad as standard, not sure of the cost of them, but probably a bit cheaper than the michelins.
Now: E70 X5 in Blue, 3 Minis Cooper S R53, JCW R56 & Cooper S Roadster R59 :drive:

Prev: Abarth 595C & 500C, E53 X5 4.4i, E88 135i M Sport, Audi TT Mk1 V6, 3 Smarts, 8 Vauxhalls, 4 Fords, 2 Triumphs, 1 Mini & Bikes

I just took my RFTs off, and went for the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti. They were about £250 cheaper than the Michelins. It has completely transformed the ride compared to the Bridgestones I had on before.

I'm running Michelin LS 3s. Nice ride compared to the Bridgestone RFTs.
