time to say goodbye ..:-((

Post by fenj66 » Fri Aug 12, 2016 11:34 pm

well. after nearly 8 years with the old girl on this and the previous x drivers forum. it was time to finally part company and move on to wheels anew.

it was a difiicult decision given the great service my x5 had given over the years but there are far too many great cars out there to not give a chance to experiencing one or two!

other than brakes/tyres/door handle carriers and servicing, my only expense had been a couple of split front driveshaft gaitors. not bad for a car i thought was going to be a money pit!  original exhaust, suspension bushes and engine parts still going strong!!

i will continue to drop into the forum and offer help and advice where i can.
maybe somebody new on here will pick up a bargain priced sterling grey x5 and continue to enjoy possibly one of the best all-round cars out there!

so long my friends. and thanks for all the input/advice over the years.. :bravo:

Hi sanj. I remember buying some tyres from you a long time ago!!
I've gone off on a different track and bought a t5 van. Plenty of scope for upgrades there. Already fitted rx8 leather front seats and reverse cam.

Not fair!!!! :'(

I want one of them! Rustynail on here a while back did exactly the same for his business quoting needing to get an 8 by 4 sheet in the car (assuming plywood or similar). He kitted that thing out REAL nice and dropped in while visiting Jason for a remap! Apparently better for it... (not giving you any ideas)!

You've gotta get some pics up please! I like some of those Vito vans too, with Brabus touches they look good. Like the idea of a big load lugger that doubles as the people carrier - granted it won't have the luxuries of the X perhaps but sometimes a change is invigorating!

All the best with the new motor and stay on here with mod updates (pics of the new upgrades)!

Don't forget the rack for 3 mountain bikes, and the compulsory surf board.
Good luck with the new motor

Sanj it may not have all the luxuries of an X, but you can get a bed in the back  :)

I've got a two-storey rabbit hutch if that would do? 6ft by 4ft.  Comes with weatherproof cover and a thermal insulation cover.  Currently unoccupied as our rabbits are 'house rabbits'.  Windows are wired for extra security  :D
