This place has been great in the past, with real enthusiasm and interest which is sadly lacking now.
So what about a members meet to hopefully revive things, anyone interested?

Use to have the same on the 7 series register...trouble is they still have meets but its the distance to travel getting to them, my nearest use to be Duxford which is over an hour away and the rest up to 2 to 3hrs away.....so on a normal meet where you have your club stand you have to be in there by 9.00am the latest so on a Sunday morning getting up at say 5.00am then you have the long journey home and then the fuel costs...think thats why people dont seem to attend anymore....Dont get me wrong love to attend a meet its just where central to all......

So, i conclude nobody wants to meet up for any level of interaction, anywhere.
A sad endightment of how contributors have dwindled to virtually nil and forum thru-put is at the same sort of level.
Oh well, c'est la vie

Seems to be the case.....4 meets on the register have been cancelled this year due to no interest and the ones that are on are down to 4/5 cars going.....one yr at Duxford we had a 32 car line up....not anymore!

I suppose the easiest way would be to meet up at the national festival at Gaydon in August, at least there would be plenty to look at as well as hopefully meet a few fellow owners.

I conclude its probably a lost cause to contemplate arranging an event. We all own a nice bit of machinery, driving for a couple of hours would be a pleasure i'd have thought.
Years ago with an E39, the forum i was part of then used to meet regionally and casually on a motorway services for a chat and a burger, simple. Turn up , chat, learn, swap ideas, refreshments then home. Given not much of that activity takes place here even at the end of fingertips, i suppose it's obvious really that people wouldnt make more effort to physically meet, or simply aren't inspired to do so.
I think that other forum went the way this one is heading.

Hi. Still new on scene here as I joined because I'm searching for an x5.
Not so much the meet angle, but more forum activity in general I note all the ones Im on are all quite now.
I've been told that that Facebook groups is new alternative, to which I've also joined, but have found users of that quite sporadic and moment in time...
Anyway if I do get one I'd be up for a potential meet.
