Has anyone ever changed the bowls in the E70 and got a better light output?

I though the E70/71 had projectors. I’ve changed bulbs to get better light. I’ve now got Osram XENARC Night Breaker Laser D1S fitted. Same power rating but the beam is better. Fiddly to do if you have big hands, and put a towel into the space below the lamp unit and inner wing of the car or you could lose the bulb into the front wing!

For those that haven’t twigged, the inner pair on the E70/71 are fake! Decorative only, no lamp.

New bulbs are a lot simpler than taking the lamp apart - especially if you can’t get it back together properly as I think everything is bonded together. Those units are stupid money from BMW.
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

I've changed the bulbs a while back and it improved the output quite a bit but it's not as good as the E46 now that I put new projector bowls in that one.
