I can't see the date on this post, but if you are close to Costco, they are doing these tyres for £168 each currently

Hi, Thanks for the reply, I got a great deal via nhs discount and another 20% off Bridgstones so saved plenty in the end :)

Thanks! PS Merry Christmas

How are you getting on with your issues, particularly interested in the services you had planned and the noises which remained after you changed your tyres, i am at 54k on my F16 X6 and in the process of pricing new discs and pads (F&R) along with new tyres, 4 wheel alignment and possibly a wheel bearing (faint whirring noise at motorway speeds) or whatever else that might be.

Cheers,

Hi mate thanks for the message:
So far what I’ve had done-
4 new tyres £800
Full transmission services / including transfer case / front and rear diff - £800
Brake pad sensor
Control arms both sides
4 wheel alignment £120 (dealer)
Rear airbags - arnott ones and fitting £370 local specialist fitted and I supplied.

Currently the noise hasn’t been as much however I’m getting what can only be described as a ticking noise constantly which is frustrate life out me, alongside that I have a whirring / whistle on low rpm and just in general up and down lower gears, may be all connected to a lose hose or broken hose but I’m hoping someone can get to the bottom of it as I’m no mechanic. Lastly a scraping sound when turning possibly brake backing plate too tight or new brakes required but doubt that as there isn’t much wear on them and we’re replaced before I got it.

Hopefully you get to the bottom of yours and really low mileage too, I’m now on 115k miles.

I’m at the stage already looking at what I’ve spent the car now probably owes me £22k all in which considering the miles may be a bit over however the spec is excellent and been well maintained but maybe looking to sell on now to someone more mechanically suited who can keep costs down and I’ll get something less miles - however I love it and the car prices these days are still a bit all over the place.

Keep me posted !
Good luck

Sorry I know this is an older post wondering how you got on? I get an oscillating sound like a bearing currently, is it common in these? Or more likely to be tyre?

Thanks Rosh, these niggling faults are hard to diagnose on these cars
