Folding mirrors on locking.?

Post by Nine468 » Sat Feb 25, 2023 10:36 am

Hi folks.
Just trying to find out if the 40D Msport cars have the folding mirrors when you lock and unlock the car.?

Ive had a good look through the i drive menu,s but i cant seem to find the setting.

Am i being thick, or dont we have it.

I can fold/unfold the mirrors from the door button, but not the key on locking/unlocking...

Ta.

If it’s possible then it may need coding rather than iDrive setting. I know on my E71 it needs coding via Carly (or similar).

Have you tried pressing and holding down the lock button on the key fob for a couple of seconds? If the mirrors fold in then your car has this function if not, it will need coding in, possibly by a dealer or indy.

Only available if you have comfort access fitted...otherwise needs programming as X5sport has mentioned.

My f15 x5 does not have comfort access but you can still fold the mirrors by using the long press on the remote, I picked it up with 18 miles on the clock so as far as I am aware it’s not been coded other than by bmw, so perhaps there is another selectable option on build?

Thanks to everybody that commented.
I can say for definite that a long press on the locking fob closes the mirrors.
Thanks...

Thats interesting, as it says in my handbook (2012) you need comfort access and if you do have it you can set the mirrors to fold in the idrive.....must have changed on later models???
