I have front centre left pdc sensor showing up on diagnostics as needing changed on my 2004 3.0 D Sport E53 X5. Currently the pdc system isn't working - is it a case of it being if one sensor is out all are out (front as well as rear)?
Also, are they sided - i.e. do i need to specifically buy a front centre left sensor or are they all entirley interchangeable?

The corner sensors are different to the centres. You need the correct replacement. And yes it is a case that if one is out they all stop working. You can code out the fronts entirely so that the rears can still continue to be used but you have to code them out with a relevant device.

Fronts and backs are seperate. Only the front corners are different...there are six straight pdc's and two 90 degree angled ones (front left and right corners)
On the facelift the bumper has to come off/pulled forwards to replace the pdc's.
