Mpg for 3.0d

Post by b21playa » Mon Dec 05, 2011 1:12 pm

Hi all

Thinking of getting an e70 3.0d se

What sort of mpg should I expect. I mainly drive to work (25miles) mainly on the motorway and do some local town driving, but I have another car to do that

In my 535d I used to get 35mpg roughly.

Thanks

cant speak for e70s but my e53 averages between 29.9 at the moment on a mixture of hilly b road and flat dual carridgeway, however in the warm summer it was 31.9, i had heard e70s were a tad worse but would expect there in a similar bracket so not much worse than your 535d

well the diesel x5s are not that bad at all my 320ci is only averaging 25-26 and my old petrol x5 did 16-18 so all in all the x5s are pretty good

Traffic and weather dependent obviously but between 26.5 and 29 for my twin turbo which after a 535 surely you would prefer?
Currently :
2012 Audi RS4 (B8)
2012 Porsche Boxster S (981)
2008 Lotus Exige S (a bit modified!)
2015 Nissan Leaf twin turbo with Nitros

I would love a twin turbo but got due to budget restricted to the single turbo. Plus I was only considering buying as someone I know was selling theirs to me at a good price

Not wanting to put you off, but personally I preferred my old 535 to the X5

The X5 would have gone by now if Audi pulled their finger out!

Too big

Not a very good 4x4

Uncomfortable ride

Salon car just more fun!
