annoying boot noise

Post by strummer » Wed Dec 21, 2011 4:41 pm

I've had the above since I have had my car and have read about other people having the same problem,I've tried numerous things to cure it including adjusting the bump stops.Well today looking thru the TIS software I came across the procedure for setting the stops using a piece of paper trapped between them and the boot lid.I adjusted mine using this method until it just grips the paper enough to prevent it being pulled out, took it for a quick spin and silence......hopefully thats sorted it,will report back after a few more miles are covered :)

I had to get in the boot while the mrs drove the car to track down the noise,it is actually the plastics on the upper tail gate flexing as the the tail gate "rocks" on the bumpstops, well thats the theory anyway,as with most things time will tell :)
