Nice and easy that, put a relay powered from the sidelights, and wire DRL's through the N/C of the relay.
As a certain dessert rodent says, simples.
If...as in the video these are 3rd wired to the sidelights (simple relay?) do the only come on when the sidelights are on...and if so what's the point
plus...will it annoy the error check system on the side lights/rings
The Philips kits switch on with the ignition and without sidelights, it's all detailed in the Philips techie blurb

we were just working out to get them off when the sidelights are turned on, wiring them from the ignition isnt an issue and then as said above puting them through the nc side of a 5 pin relay will turn them off when the lights are turned on, as imo the drls look daft in the dark!

Re: DRL thread resurrection
Well, the Philips way is the legal way and therefore the best (only?) option, imo anyway. But as i've abandoned the idea, i'm not emotional how it may me tweaked to suit a particular need by others.
Staying within the law is just easier, at the risk of sounding sanctimonious

Re: DRL thread resurrection
Just to re-surrect an old thread...
Here's my solution.
They stay on with sidelights Using self made dimmer modules which dim the DRL when it gets dimpsy.
Thinking of wiring to ignition / engine running scenario thou..

If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....

Anything I say is only from my personal experience and knowledge..
I don't assume to know everything, and know there is a lot I don't know..
But then I could be talking bollox.. O:-)
