New X6 M50d on the way.........

Post by X5Sport » Thu Jan 12, 2012 10:14 am

New 'M' models on the way including an X6 M50d with a 380+ bhp 3.0 litre tri-turbo diesel......

Story here (apologies for cross posting).....

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=634571

The US won't be getting it, and it's not due until the LCI version appears later this year. Cost probably outrageous.

Even so a diesel 'M' has got to be an interesting drive........ :driving:

Me too, but that's a bit more than a prezzy for the wife methinks!

At the rate BMW are going with turbos, we're going to see a small diesel engine starter for a gas turbine soon. After all, the next gen X5 is to have a 2.0 litre engine. Ally body or not, that's going to need some help!!

I've already been in the dealer's to register an interest. I decided not to bother testing the new M5 as I prefer the driving position in the X6. However if pricing is same as the X6M then I have to say I would go for the petrol.

It'll probably be like the M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank fuel ratings - if it'll burn, it'll run on it.
