Buying parts

Anyone able to recommend an online stockist of parts for BMW? Got a lot of random bits (mainly bodywork parts) that I need to order. I'm getting fed up with driving to the not so local dealer to order, driving back to collect, then going back again because they're the wrong ones ......

Look your parts up on www.realoem.com and phone your order through. Or see if you can find the parts on eBay with the part number you get from realoem. If your not fussed about brand new parts then parts gateway is pretty good. You put a description of the part you want, can even add photos and then they search through all the well know BMW breakers ( fab direct, quarry motors etc)

I'd be interested to know if you've had good experiences of BMW breakers. In the past I've found breakers a lot of effort for often rubbish parts

Dipped beam plastic cover, eyelet for rubber strap in boot. I'm sure I'll find other bits in the next few weeks that I need.

My limited dealings with a bmw breaker way back was very poor. After I went to all the trouble of describing the part I was looking for in great detail, MidlandBm ltd (guy called NIgel Oliver Crooks!) sent the incorrect parts and it took months and the threat of small claims to get my money back!

Haven't bothered again so I'd be interested to know if anyone has a better experience with any breakers.

I've had no problems using parts gateway I've had various parts from radiator hoses to a full 5 series engine.

I usually save the realoem picture and attach to my request stating what item number/ part number/ colour etc

i didn't know about parts gateway (thanks for that btw), i've used breakyard.com before. good stuff, i've even returned stuff for a full refund with no fuss. only thing i had to eat up the postage cost!
