Who is the best BMW Main Dealer in South/South East England?

Post by dirtymonkey29 » Fri May 11, 2012 8:29 pm

As you appear keen to state your opinion on common courtesy, I would have thought this would extend to welcoming the newbie...that would have been nice...but obviously not...
Maybe if you posted in the right section
And the same information in my signature is also available in my profile...
Still using tapatalk app. Info is not show in detail, neither are signatures.
The intended purpose of my post was to ask a specific and not a broad question, what I thought was a straightforward question and to a forum that might respond quicker and more efficiently than me ringing around many BMW main dealers who would reasonably be biased in their abilities, after all its the customers' advise I am seeking - not the suppliers.
Indead a straight forward question with little response hence my post.

I hope you find the answers your looking for.

Firstly - your last paragraph in your initial post referred to Indys and people have referred more to that part as more of the members use Indys.

Secondly - you are correct that you don't have to post in the newbies section and "show off" about your car but it is general forum etiquette and not just on this forum.

Thirdly - If you are not proud of your car - no matter what it is then why buy it.

Fourthly -you may not get the answer you want but it is polite to smile and accept it, and not be blunt and to a certain extent quite rude, otherwise you will find people will be unwilling to help you in future.

:D

So maybe if I had posted in the newbie section you'd still not be able to know anything about me or my vehicle, what a grand thought - go figure...

And even a little response provides me with a bit more pertinent information, providing that it is relevent to the question I have asked?

I doubt your sincerity no matter what you hope for, but thank you for the interest - however it doesn't look like you are inclined towards answering the question that I raised in the opening post to this topic I started?

Perhaps with more than a little response you no longer need to post any more replies to this topic of mine - and I hope you have something else better to do, now there's a thought...?

Perhaps a post explaining that you were new but didn't wish to provide further details at the outset would have shown us some courtesy? The majority will always respect privacy if that's preferred...and would have changed the approach you got, but sadly not......and your responses to those members have not exactly shown us much courtesy either.

You asked for main dealer info primarily and told us that Indy info would be useful for the future. Members tried to respond but that wasn't good enough for you. We've even tried to tell you why you may not get the answers, but that's still not good enough for you. All the suggestions are perfectly valid and useful as 'suggestions', which is all they could be.

This is a lighthearted group with a lot of help and banter abounding. Responding as you have is simply going to result in silence to your replies....and that regrettably is entirely of your own doing.

(BTW, I would not recommend using a dealers own website for reviews as they'll be biased...... ;) )

Firstly the first part of the first post that I made in my topic was about BMW main dealers and at least some, even a few members of this forum and other like minded BMW forums use BMW main dealers - and have even replied to me - so what's your point as you clearly aren't interested in answering my question either?

Secondly what forum etiquette are you refering to - or is this just your forum etiquette, does it therefore have to be mine?

Thirdly what does it matter to you if I'm proud of my vehicle or not - and did I mention that I was the buyer of it?

Fourthly my replies were to posts that in my opinion were themselves impolite and I find your post to my topic quite rude when it doesn't even attempt to answer my question...and to those that have answered my question I have politely acknowledged their post and thanked them.

To be blunt...I really don't need any help from anyone who is not interested in answering my question, thank you?

...and please don't feel the need to reply...unwilling or otherwise, now or in the future...

Who is the best BMW Main Dealer in South/South East England?

Post by X5Driver » Fri May 11, 2012 9:45 pm

I recently contacted my main dealer about a persistent self levelling fault and explained I have been using a certain Indy and the main dealer said stick with him as he used to work for the main dealer and was the best man for the job and they could not do anything better I.e. diagnostics etc

I am relatively new here and everyone is very helpful and forthcoming but like to know the story behind the purchase kind of thing only because they are passionate about the vehicles and helping.

Dirtymonkey has been a lot of help to me and also told me straight when I need to stop buggering around and book it in.

Some of the op's responses even if they were meant innocently may be taken as quite harsh through independent eyes

Just my tuppence worth

Precisely...where is there any courtesy to anyone who quite frankly is not interested in answering my question - just look at your own 1st post to my topic - obviously amusing to you but sadly that's all it is to me...

What does it matter to you what is good enough for me - suggestion or opinion matters not to me as the point is - does it answer my question or not - and to those that have, I have politely acknowledged them and thanked them for their answer.

And I'd prefer silence rather than responses that are not relevant to my question, that to me is not regrettable but appreciated and hardly of my own doing when I consider your 1st post...but if it is, so be it!

So please do not feel in any way inclined to continue posting to this topic of mine...

F@ck me you lot, miserable bastards all of you

It is normally me upsetting everybody!

Welcome OP

After having made a few complaints at vines of redhill I have to say they really have got their act together over the past few visits I have made, including today.

All new staff on the desks and things dealt with pretty much as promised.

Still not as good as Audi but getting a lot closer

As you will see from my sig, I'm leaving the brand soon but will still come on here to wind everybody up!
