Damage from hailstones

Love Madrid!

Went there a short while ago and these little urchins.....

There's a great place off a square with what looks like a market that simply sells cooked food with wine, anything you can think of....yum!

Know the one you mean, went in there - very trendy.

Is near the Palace and the Opera, neither of which are places they let you in of course  :P

Managed to sneak in ;)

Madrid has a great atmosphere and if the weather is good it's a great place to sit and watch the world go by.

Much as I'm doing here in Budapest waiting for my taxi to the airport :)

Damage from hailstones

Post by mogsyman » Thu Oct 11, 2012 8:31 pm

Off to Istanbul tomorrow, back Sunday, then back again Tuesday and then back Wednesday, then up to the NEC for a while.

Then back and off to Amsterdam, Barcelona and hopefully Dubai end of November.

I'll will then had enough and look forward to having a few weeks off before it starts again in January. Seems like good fun, but living in hotels as those who travel know (especially if you're on your own as I am in Turkey) isn't much fun!

I would miss the family & home life but am sure I could cope with flights, being abroad, eating & drinking in new places, meeting new people & even having a little time to myself work permitting. Am sure there is a flip side dependant on the business task, location & those I had to be with, however, not being a jetsetter I suspect it might take a while for me to find it a major drag if all well back in uk.

Try ciragan palace, best hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world.

Second 14th floor of the Conrad there, also great.

Flights I don't mind and sitting here in the Club Europe lounge with whatever you want for breakfast washed down with a glass of bubbles can be quite attractive (obviously no booze quite this early for me!)

Being away from home and family can be difficult - not being able to drive my car is even more so  ;)

Looks lovely and having just done some work in the Kempinski in both Geneva and Budapest I know they're great hotels!

Unfortunately that's as far as I get, working in them and then going back to our 'normal' hotels as we're on a slightly lower budget that you are Paul - I must be in the wrong job! :(

I could cope........Spent 12 evenings from 15 away from family recently, didnt drive my car much either. Ironic when primary workplace less than 30 mins away.

I imagine you keep the cabin crew entertained  ;)
