I have replaced the fsu as I discovered this was faulty and causing the fan to run even when the car was off. however the problem with the current drain is still there.

I have search various forums and read about the starter motors failing and pulling a huge current which unless driven miles the alternator can't replace.
On starting the car tonight with a charged battery it seemed to crank quite slowly and laboured. could this
be a sign of a starter motor issue.
Also is the starter motor issue known on the 4.4i, as all the forum posts I can see dont state an engine type.
Thanks
Andy
