Cost of journey

Post by awj85 » Sat Jan 26, 2013 6:20 pm

In March time I am probably going to travel from Sunderland to Devon and return.  Is going to be 800 miles driving in total (estimated)
The x IS LPG converted and I'm wondering about the cost.  I've not had the car for too long so you guys would have a better idea than me of the REAL mpg.  Can someone kindly illustrate the estimated fuel cost?  Obviously to the current cost of gas as prices will no doubt increase before then .

I'm thinking the train would be greatly dearer as there will be two adults and a child so car will be cheaper.  Plus once at the other end if I have no wheels it will be public transport which again will be more £.

Thanks for your help again.  :-)

On motorway I can get 300 miles out of an 80 litre tank at a cost of approx £45

Built for speed..... :))

But seriously, the computer shows 19-20 mpg, but when you calculate it out, it comes to about 16mpg. Always thought it was down to the lower calorific value of the gas and the way the computer makes a guess about consumption from throttle position etc
