More bits done and being done, happy days....

Post by dpbayly » Mon May 13, 2013 7:38 pm

Couple of little jobs done,

Blacked out the front bonnet grills:

along with the rear X5 badge

Today my super cheap OEM 4.6 IS front lower valance turned up so gave it a test fit and cut all the holes in my bumper to make it fit:

after the test fit I filled the scratches and imperfections and then primed it ready for painting tomorrow, cant wait to get it fitted......

Im liking the black grills. I just bought a 4.4 in the same colour and want to do the same. Did you buy some off ebay?  If so what was the fit like and do you have a linky.

Cheers
Mick

Thanks,

It's the original grill, I Keyed all the surfaces then primed them and then sprayed them satin black,

I did it the same way to my last E39 540 and they still looked as good as the day I painted them 5 months later when I sold the motor

Valance is all painted did it today at work only down side was there wasn't enough time for me to bake it fully in the oven so I flashed it off and got it home and stuck it in front of the heater in the dinning/junk room, so the paint wont be fully hard till maybe tomorrow but I'll probably leave it to be sure till Thursday before fitting.....
