I will get on to it tomorrow and send him a pic of my wheel to see if he would be open to me part exing my wheel and mention he was recommended by you and this site :)

I'm assuming this means the E46 wheel will fit the X5?

Mention EvoTechnik also.

As for E46 wheel fitting, it will be a straight swap on the pre-facelift but on the facelift E53 you have to change the slipring also and airbag.

If it keeps SWMBO happy then it's a good thing. Anyway, a small button on the steering wheel is slightly less obtrusive than 700kg's of Italian fashion statement  :P
