Aaaargh ! One step forward two steps back. Popped in the new cd magazine now i cant eject it. i thought that all I had to do was press the little green button and out it would pop. I may have put in wrong somehow but it wont release - does nayone have any suggestions as to how I get the thing out (without breaking anything !)

Various options.
1. Try removing the power to the CD Changer in the boot put it back on again and see if that works.
2. Go to your nearest dealer and they allegedly have a tool for the job. You might even get it for free
3. Remove the CD Changer from the vehicle and strip the case off and see if you can get the magazine out.
There may be other options.........it seems to be a common issue. Lots of solutions on the web if you search for stuck bmw cd magazine.

thanks - will work my way through the list and see where I takes me. Daft question - how/where do i access the power to the cd unit?

If I remember correctly there's a three pin and six pin connector on the rear of the changer. I think the three pin is the power. The changer is pretty easy to remove from the rack in the back. I can't check on ours as it's 250 miles away, and there is no chance that SWMBO is going near it as she'll probably damage herself with the screwdriver!
