Oi! It's 5 hours a day now, thank you....... >:(
All drinking water is filtered anyway so that isn't a problem. We do have lime-scale problems with the heating (dosed annually with Fernox) and other things like washing machines and now I know why!! Good thing Mrs X5Sport uses these anti-scale tabs!
Haven't yet tried the DIV yet as I have just rigged up a particle filter to sit between the Karcher Pump and the DI vessel. I think I will be running off the water butt for now as the water is kept much cleaner with the pour in treatment that can be bought, and at 40ppm and so much water...err....'falling' at present it's an easy choice.
The Karcher 3800 does have a simple foam filter and I also have the Karcher addon
one for the front of the K6.800 PW (it might also fit a number of the recent/current models too I think?) which I have now added a Hozelock
2289 adapter to so that it makes a very cheap in line particle filter with a male Hozelock at each end.
The only in-line particulate filters I have come across are silly money and hence my wanting to rig something much simpler up. OK it won't go down to sub-micron level, but it should keep anything else out of the resin.
I did have a look at Anglian Water's website and it seems this area is amongst the hardest water supply areas they serve.
