Yes just take out the Mk3 and fit the Mk4 in its place, should work straight away.

Hi Sanj, had to work late last night in the end. :( Will be doing it tonight. I'll take pics and post up, although it seems very easy! Did have a quick look this morning though. Looks like you slide it out like a car stereo is that right? There are 4 spring pins, 2 each side, looks fiddly pressing them all in at once to release the unit, or is there a special tool?

There is a U shaped tool to remove the unit that you just slide in and it presses the clips down at the same time.

Alternatively, put to metal pins in there (thin) to achieve the same. You can do one side at a time if need be, but is easier all at the same time.

Thanks pvr, I don't suppose that tool comes with the car? Its a dealer tool I should imagine?

I'm sure I can fiddle it ok. Like the old days when I use to lose the little removal tools for my cr*ppy car stereos! 2 electrical screw drivers and a bit of dexterity! :D

That's it, exactly the same as those old stereos. I had some left over from an old Philips unit that I used.
