RenoHuskerDu, do you perhaps have any daylight photos?

Here ya go, with a modest editorial statement, to boot. It's a grey day but the cloud cover isn't very thick. They would look brighter in rainy weather, and less bright if it were sunny. Whenever I see another E53 I check out its AEs and so far mine are brighter. About half of the E53s that I see have been converted. The replacement bulbs at a French dealer cost more than conversion kits on Amazon.

Were those bullet holes in your lower grille there since you started using that personnel plate in France/ Germany
Or from a previous conflict ( 1939 /45 )

Ay m8 I have another thread going on me bullet holes. So far, no joy looking for metal grills. And 150 quid for fleabay black plastic ones does not tempt me much.  :(

Did you paint the kidney grills or buy them in black. I have the same car in same colour and black grills looks nice

These are the grills that came with the car. Either body color came new or the PO had them painted.

If it were not such a PITA to replace them, I would settle for fleabay black plastic. But my beady little heart is set on some kind of metal screen instead.

4.4's came with silver from factory, rest were black. Painted mine - not a mission.
