Have a look at Alloy Wheels Direct.  It list all currently available wheels for BMW.

Beware of what tyres you use though.  These cars are 'soft roaders' and proper cross-country tyres will increase your risk of a shattered transmission.  It is more of an issue to staggered set-ups (front and rear wheels/tyres are a different width) but needs keeping in mind.

BMW 'approved' tyres have a '*' mark in them.

There is some seriously divided opinion on wheels and tyres. I consider I,ve done a stint off road if I park on a kerb.

The X5 is I think a pretty good compromise vehicle I run a 4.6 on 20" wheels looks nice and handles well on the road I also have 18" winter wheels and tyres.
I tow a horse trailer mainly in the Summer and Autumn and the X copes well with wet fields and the odd snotty gateway. Winter I shoot and work my dogs so plenty of forays well away from the "beaten" track as they say.
So far I have never been stuck (that's blown it) and have on two occasions pulled "better" off road vehicles out of ruts.
So for me it is about compromise the X5 will never be a match for the AMG's I have owned but it is good on the road, like wise it is not the vehicle to attack the Paris Dakar in or any extreme off road stuff but is is still good.

Where potholes are concerned they are a real menace to all of us (X drivers or not) regardless of tyres. Off road you would be unlikely to be travelling at 50 mph and would be very aware of looking for hazards, on the A272 in leafy Sussex !!!
