Not heard of a single facelift version having had the problem ...

........you just had to say it didn't you. I can hear the mechanical gremlins conspiring in my (make that my wife's now) X5 right now..

Yeah, I think pvr is right.. they have the new design. The old one used to overheat and so over time it would fail.
