Possibly, but it could be the link between the Intravee and the KCA where the power is lost.

You said the CD changer is working (sort of), so it gets power to the cables. Do you have tools to trace power, i.e. to see if the power ends up at the end of the cable going into the Intravee?

The easiest to test to see if the Intravee is getting power is via the serial cable (you may need to get a serial to USB cable to get it to a modern laptop).

I'll have a bash at this later, I just checked on google images to see if my Toshiba Laptop has a serial cable connector, which it has - so thats £15 saved TG. When I'm reading through all the posts on Intraventions Forum - it seems such a simple process - however nothing seems to be straight forward for me. So much for luck of the Irish!!!

He'll pay! ;)

Jokes aside, just catching up with this thread.

The guys at TIYC will send the unit in UI6 mode (for the OEM SatNav unit). It will have been tested to work. It has a fuse that can blow inside which they recommend should be swapped by the manufacturer. Very rare though.

Couple of things - iPhone4(s) is compatible just won't charge from this setup. Some iPods work well others, not so. Key is if you get the 'Alpine' connected screen on either. If nothing, then it can be either of the units.

Testing the IV is easy, plug it in WITH a cable (that has to be compatible) and when you fire up the downloader executable and switch to ignition position 1 you should see the communication between the IV and the car. I can check that for you. I know without this stuff in place it's a ball ache.

If the IV is fine then the problem is along the line in the KCA...

Forum member RichardP is THE guru on this and will be able to help 10 fold. I may have said some stuff that's misleading too - drop him a PM.

Or post it with an SAE and a load of cash!

Hey Sanj,

Thanks for the update, I might check for the fuse issue with the Intravee. I purchased the KCA from phiggystardust and it was never used (still sealed in the original box) and when I click onto my music folder on my iPhone it's saying accessory recognized, so the KCA is feeding some type of signal to the iPhone.

I went to Maplin tonight and purchased a serial to USB cable...... The fecking serial connector wasn't flush and had studs on it which prevented me from connecting to the intravee connector as its got studs too....... Honestly, I say this again SO Much for Luck of The Irish!!!

I have a 4 hr drive to Holyhead on 22nd to get the ferry home to Dublin and I'm really getting p****d off as my CD Changer is fecked and I just want to have access to my iTunes music from the Head Unit.

So you think it was a lose connection of the CD cable to the Intravee?
Do you have the serial cable to connect from a PC to the Intravee so you can read the ibus?
Do you need any software or drivers to change settings on the laptop with serial cable?
Recieved intravee this morning from toysinyourcar with a compliments slip and nothing else. I will need to get a serial cable if I can't "long term borrow" one from work

Just get one of these http://www.tronisoft.com/prod.php?id=2327 unless you have an old laptop that has a native serial port, in which case, get one of these http://www.tronisoft.com/prod.php?id=3206 (male to female serial extension cable with screws on both ends).
