Maybe for sale soon

Post by dirtymonkey29 » Tue May 08, 2012 9:37 am

I've not looked at the job market properly yet. I'm self employed and I'm on contract to a bank at the moment. The project has been brought to an end early and I know there are no current projects starting off yet within the bank. If I can keep the car I will otherwise I will sell up to feed the family. I will still need a car though so will have to get a run around like a focus diesel or something, and then come back to an X5 when times are better.

Sorry to hear buddy. I had this 4 years ago but things tend to work out in the end. Only sell as a last resort.

:( sorry mate.

I lost a job a while ago, in haste I sold my 194bhp gsxr 1000 (rebored to 1175cc) Best bike I ever owned, sold it thinking it was the right thing to do.... got a much better job weeks later.... in hindsight a massive fail on my part.

Sorry to hear it - only echo sentiments above. I was made redundant mid December 2010, very stressed about it, got a small payout but it really knocks you about a bit. Working as a self employed contractor since 6 January and not been out of work since, current assignment been extended till July. No longer worried - I know I will get the right assignments! Hang in there.

What's wrong with the interior? I wouldn't bother increasing the wheels by one inch, seems pointless to me

my projects are ending in a month and a half, as a consultant in around 2 months time i'd either have a new project or i might be on the street myself. on the positive side, i've lived with that uncertainty through worse times of the global economy, that i'm 'conditioned' to sleep the nights with that in the back of my mind now!!

on the positive, if i look around the circle of friends and my former colleagues, some of who lost their jobs are actually doing better now!! some found better jobs, some decided to go their own ways, and are actually doing well!

i particularly like the lot who decided to do their own, as opposed to reporting to another company, who have the fate in their hands and not in a closed door discussion about the next round of job cuts!!

its amazing what ppl uncover as opptys!! i know one guy who supplies liquor to local residencies after hrs, to house parties and stuff, cos u can't buy once the shops close, and he delivers home!! how about that for an extreme? innovative! and the guy has a few ppl employed with a few delivery vans to run the service now.

havin said that i myself most prob. will not have the courage to 'risk' the bread and butter for my family and do something that extreme right now. that's cos most of us are financially leveraged to the limit, with mortgages and stuff. stop that monthly income and its down to savings and beyond that its scr3wed!

ok, time to run for a meeting, got to save my job i guess!

all the best mate, opportunities are endless, u often find them when u have to look the hardest!

It will have to go.  Advert will be up tomorrow once I've worked out how much a 54 plate diesel is worth with loads of toys and extras

Somehow I missed this thread along the way.
Really sorry to hear of your situation and hope that the sale gives you what you need.

As others have said, I'm sure something will come along soon.

Good luck all round mate.

Chin up mate, i have been through redundancy twice in 3 years. The last time was on my birthday. Imagine. Anyway this prompted me to form my own company and now im happy working for myself. The work isnt regular, granted, but as a banking Business Analyst, when the work comes its with a good wage. When one door closes another always presents itself. Trust me.
