Deffo a con!  How about following this up further, with emails and see how he plans to scam the person?

I asked him where in London he is so i could have a look, how long he owned it for and who serviced the motor last:

The car is not in London, the car is in Glasgow. I have owned it for almost 2years. I bought it from my wife's parents . The car is in good condition.
What is your email address? It's the second time I am asking you for it!

And you need to send me the deposit before you can pick the car up. 

Can I pay you £100 more than the deposit and you send me the difference back to my bank account?  )

I asked a few question on this and got the same reply as a few post above, so just a copy and paste.
I said I drive lots of miles due to work an can go from London to Glasgow in the same day.
So when's the best time to come and look at it, did not answer that part.
It's a con.
