At that mileage shocks should be fine so as AW8 has said see what the tyre pressures are.

Not sure what tyres you have or what size but from my own experience going from my summer 21" Runflat Dunlop tyres to the 19" Non-runflat Verdestien tyres is a different car and much more comfortable, no crashing or bouncing about on uneven roads and much lighter steering too than the bigger harder tyres.
Might not look as good but its a much nicer drive, so smaller wheels and ditch the run flats!  :o

Hi

Sorry for the delay coming back with the info!

This is what is written on my tyres:

Front Right and Left: Michelin Diamaris 255/50 R 19 103V

Back Right and Left: Michelin Diamaris 285/45 R 19 107V

So, would you expect these to be a bit bumpy and is it worth changing them?

I still haven't checked the tyre pressures yet. I have chased Amazon for delivery of the pressure meter as it should have been next day delivery!

Thanks

Sally

Hi Sally.

Nope I wouldn't change them as they are decent quality tyres and changing them will make no difference (apart from if they are run flats, which I don't think they are).

Tyre pressures need to be checked tbh as the first port of call. If they are correct then it could be a number of other things.

Raj.

+1 .......Shouldn't be major comfort issues if tyres/wheels undamaged. Many X5's came with those from new & you have provided corect make/type/size/load & speed ratings.

Ironically in time spent posting you could have checked the pressures at a forecourt. Whilst devices can vary in accuracy it's worth checking asap for safety reasons........you can use new gauge later.

Thanks for the replies. I will check the tyres at a petrol station tomorrow. I have only ever done this once before!

Morning, sorry I meant to send the information yesterday.

I tested the tyre pressures using my new gizmo and found them to be 30 on all 4 tyres.

I assume this is wrong?

Yes as prior said should all be 32..........Tbh 2psi each corner is unliley to make a massive difference and pressures can drop a little when it gets colder so I would not expect such a small increase to make a night and day difference to the issues you have...........i.e. hard ride. Worth doing though.

Sorry, I meant to ask before, are my tyres (Michelin Diamaris 255/50 R 19 103V and 285/45 R 19 107V) the 'Run Flat' type. I looked on the Internet but wasn't 100% sure. It's just that I read that Run Flat types could be a bit bumpy. Thanks!
