Wasn't there an article recently about the bacteria that grow in the water bottle if you don't have strong alcohol content in there?
So your Evian turns into legionaires disease

I can understand the problem with the Hand Wash Units but I don't often drink / wash myself with the washer jets so bacteria shouldn't be a problem

I'd be more worried about Legionnaires from my unserviced air-con! In fact I think the air-con in my office has passed this to me already... i'm stuffed up but have no choice to have it on - its 47 degrees outside!

Legionnaires is spread by droplets / airborne organisms - can also be found in shower heads which are not used for a long time.....good reason to let the shower run a good blast of water out the head first before getting your head under it - gets rid of any nasties lurking there!!!

I'll make sure I do that when I get back home - 5 weeks away means there could be allsorts having a party in my shower head... and my header tank... and my cistern... and cylinder

Have a look on tinterweb you can get little silver balls of swarf that you drop in the shower hose. We use them at work especially where showers arent used frequently. Some silver chemical thingy going on I dont know cos I wasnt listening when told...oops Too busy looking out window thinking about going home.

I'm not that worried really... when you shower in Kazakhstan you'd happily drink the 5 week old water in my shower head at home!
