Lol it's good to question these things.

As Don has highlighted, the rear self levelling is to allow for increased loads (such as loading up the boot or hitching a caravan) on the rear, to keep the rear at the preset height. However if for example the front were sitting lower for any reason then the rear would not lower to keep the vehicle level and the nose would be pointed down.

Xenon levelling has a sensor on offside front wishbone/suspension arm and nearside rear wishbone/suspension arm which auto adjust the level of the beam as the arms shift.
