One of the reasons why I removed the CF trim - it got TOO dark in there!

Light wood trim should be banned!  Piano black, aluminium, cf are the way to go!

I've got a black interior with piano black, and the car is black as well. It's all very nice, but a little bit too black for me. I like a bit of contrast in there, so maybe the silver with the black.

I'm generally not a fan of wood, but I saw sod champagne edition e39s before I bought the X5 and they have a really nice light brown poplar wood in there.

I've always favoured the light grey interior, ever since a friend of mine had beige with a sort of baby poo brown dashboard, I've avoided beige like the plague.

But after looking through hundreds of cars trying to find a good used E53...

I went for beige leather, with the anthracite head liner, light beige and contrasting black dashboard, plus dark poplar interior... Yeah its what came with the car..

Honestly... I think its a really nice combo :) A little bit of elbow grease to keep the wood nice and glossy, without using that terrible fake spray on shine. Q. Why do some second hand car dealers spray silicon wet look coating everything.. BMW interiors aren't supposed to be shiny plastic everywhere :).

Anyway the dark poplar, in some angles you can clearly see the woodgrain, and in other lights/angles its almost black, and very shiny.

I've been a big fan of the bamboo trim since I first saw in on the 2007 E70.  So was very pleased that my current car had this fitted.  If I had brought this car from new, I would have taken the bamboo but my ideal interior would have been the oyster/black which has a classy look with the practicality of black carpets dash etc.

Had that combo on my 535d and same again (aside from the external colour) on my X6 40d.  Second time round I went with the individual slate leather which has that lighter piping to give it the contrast you mentioned above.  Latest car is again ind slate on black car but with the M specific ally trim (no point paying for piano black when you have a model specific trim and resale appeal to consider)

this is EXACTLY what i was after when i was lookin around for an X; just that in the weeks i was on the hunt i didn't get a good example with everything else satisfying me. eventually i went for a rather odd colour - moca which is a darker brown leather. dash is full black unlike in this. much better spec than most - comfort seats, built in sun screens + the overall condition..

no heated steering though lol

I just bought Black car mats.  Problem solved.

Pretty much went on condition, mileage and spec myself, plus I wanted the Lemans Blue, which limited the choice somewhat.

I've had the comfort seats in a 7 a few years back... Nice but the Nappa leather sports seats are pretty comfortable if your not too big, and fit nicely between the bolsters ;)

I had to have Xenon, and heated seats, and as a bonus this one has the 10 speaker hifi upgrade too. It doesn't actually sound all that bad, just need to add a sub sometime.

Pana sunroof too, with no faults (yet) hah.

Oh yeah.. The steering wheel IS heated! :)
