Did you get yours replaced Malc? similar problem on mine, if I was you I would spend the extra £30 getting the original part from BMW compered to the ones on ebay, mine lasted one month before the ball popped off its socket. Fitment isn't too great either on the aftermarket part. Saying that, I'm still having problems, (door handle carrier further problems topic)

Mine failed at 151,000 but then I don't know if it had been changed previously. Do I win?!
