They are guessing because they admitted that though codes were logged there was no fault present when they did the diagnostic. The lights come on one day and go off another. The abs light literally turned off as I pulled up at bmw it's like the car is playing with me. I am collecting her tomorrow and if this treatment hasn't worked then officially no one in the world knows the exact problem. I won't give up though it's a engine and the one thing all engines have in common is they want to run. It's only money and it's has to be spent on something i guess.

I just remembered I hadn't posted the outcome from the bmw tests, they wasn't not 100% certain but recommended changing the alternator, so I did and cleared 500 miles since and it's all good, seems to of done the trick perfectly, they odd charge £700 just for that not to mention the other bits they did.
